Anglo-Saxon Runes

This event presented to you by

Pagan Pathways Temple

On August 17 at 7pm
Repeats? - - No

Runes and Runology, a 5-part series with author Helen Pattskyn
hosted by Pagan Pathways Temple, 28736 John R Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071)

What are runes? Where did they come from? These are important questions for rune-workers (new and experienced) because the answers inform the way we read rune-staves. When I have taught this class previously, my focus has been primarily on academic runology, but now that we have some time, I would like to spend a full session on each of the aetts of the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, as well as a full session on history, so we can give equal weight to the esoteric side of rune work. Please come prepared to do some guided meditation/journey work at each session. Please also be sure to bring a notebook, as I tend not to do a whole lot of hand-outs (I will, however, post some notes onto the event pages).

Session 1 – The history of Runes and Runology and Vigil for Oðinn (guided meditation)
Session 2 – the First Aett
Session 3 – the Second Aett
Session 4 – the Third Aett
Session 5 – the Northumbrian Rune Row (sometimes called the Fourth Aett)

Cost: $10 per Session
Dates: Aug 17, 24, 31 & Sept 21 & 28
