May Day Celebration

This event presented to you by

First Metaphysical Church of Davison

On May 2 at 6pm
Repeats? - - No

This year we will weave the old with the new and celebrate the coming of the sun as we call blessings in upon our congregation and our community.

We will kick off the celebration with the Maypole dance followed by a potluck feast in Harmony Hall.
We will also be gathering the traditional sacred wood for the fire. Beltane fires were fundamental to the ancient traditions as cattle were driven between them to allow the smoke to clean off ticks and mites. We will be using this as an opportunity to ‘clean away’ the winter woes and purifying our personal space with the smoke of the nine sacred trees.

This year we will celebrate Beltane on Saturday, May 2nd, the night before the full moon of May. The May moon is traditionally called the flower moon, and to celebrate we are asking attendees to bring bouquets of flowers to fill Harmony Hall with the promise of a fruitful summer.

Everyone is welcome to join us in this celebration.

Our event starts at 6:00 pm. We will also have crafts for the children, luminaries for everyone to light, and fireworks to set off at dusk.

Contact Kristin Senters, Davonna, Ginger, or Rev Sherry Pickett for more information.
