Ostara Spring Equinox Ritual

This event presented to you by

First Metaphysical Church

On March 26 at 2:30pm
Repeats? - - No

The vernal equinox inaugurates the new year on the Zodiacal calendar. From this point on, days are longer than the nights. Many mythologies regard this as the time of rebirth or return for vegetation gods and goddesses and celebrate the spring equinox as a time of great fertility. Persephone returns from Hades and her mother, Demeter, once again blesses the earth with lush vegetation.

Egg decorating is a very common tradition in vernal equinox celebrations throughout Europe.

Germanic pagans dedicate the holiday to their fertility goddess Ostara (the eastern star). She is notably associated with the fecund symbols of the hare and egg. Her teutonic name may be etymological ancestor of the words east and Easter.

~May this be a time of rebirth as we begin to sow our seeds and awaken all that is green. As nature awakens and begins to create new life. Celebrate longer days and blessings of new~

There will be a re-dedication ceremony during ritual. Prepare to re-dedicate yourself to your deity and tell us a little about whom you are dedicated to and why.

This is a love donation event~

Potluck and drumming to follow~
Blessed Be~
